At Barefoot College, our Rights & Entitlements Program team recently facilitated powerful women’s meetings in Silora and Jawaja blocks.
These sessions introduced rural women to their legal rights and government schemes — from pensions and ration to drinking water, electricity, livelihood, and MGNREGA (NREGA) opportunities.
🟡 What makes this special?
These women didn’t just listen — they organized.
Village-level women’s groups have now been formed, becoming active platforms where women discuss local issues and take collective action.
➡ Many groups have already started applying for NREGA work, demanding electricity supply, and pushing for access to safe drinking water — proving the power of informed communities. 💧⚡🧱
